NCRI Confederation of Cancer Biobanks

The NCRI Confederation of Cancer Biobanks was launched on Tuesday 10th October 2006 at the NCRI Cancer Conference 2006 in Birmingham.

Through this confederation, onCore UK will work with other cancer biobanks for mutual benefit, to ensure complementarities, avoid unnecessary competition and ensure a coordinated approach to cancer biosample provision.

This will benefit all involved by allowing the sharing of expertise and information, the establishment of harmonised standards for the operation of cancer biobanks and provide a means to access a larger pool of biosamples from the confederated banks.
