Donors

onCore UK helps people with cancer to take a direct part in the fight against the disease.  We evolved partly in response to a desire expressed by people with cancer to help cancer research, and partly to meet cancer researchers’ need for good quality cancer tissues to study.

We are a not-for-profit organisation and are a registered charity that provides an accessible and ethically approved way to donate blood, tumour tissue and relevant clinical data for cancer research.  The donated biosamples and data are stored anonymously and securely.  We then make them available to researchers, and only for ethically approved research.  The researchers may be based anywhere in the world, in public or private laboratories.

We will pass on information to patients and donors, the general public, healthcare professionals and the research community about what happens to the biosamples in general: where they are going, what researchers are doing with them – and most importantly, the results and outcomes achieved by studying the biosamples.
