The Biosample Donation Networks

In 2006 all National Health Service Clinical Trial Networks that were part of the National Cancer Research Network (NCRN) were invited to submit bids to work in partnership with onCore UK.  From the excellent bids submitted, an independent review committee selected the Clincial Trial Networks that have now become the initial onCore UK Biosample Donation Networks (BDNs).  These BDNs each agreed targets and procedures for biosample collection, and onCore UK has provided funding and training for the local resources necessary to start collecting samples.

The Networks, and hospital Trusts within these Networks, that are currently working with onCore UK are:

Central South Coast Cancer Research Network

  • Southampton University Hospital NHS Trust
  • Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust

Pan Birmingham Cancer Research Network

  • University Hospital Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust
  • Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust
  • Snadwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust

West Anglia Cancer Research Network

  • Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
